About Aeternum Jewellery
Is Aeternum Jewellery based in the UK?
Yes. Aeternum Jewellery is based in Birmingham, England. Our pieces are cast, finished and prepared in the UK, around Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.
What does Aeternum Jewellery make?
Aeternum Jewellery creates made-to-order precious metal jewellery for alternative people, including ear tunnels, ear weights, rings, pendants, signet rings, memento mori pieces, sacred geometry designs and bespoke jewellery.
Our work is made in sterling silver, 9ct gold, 14ct gold and other selected precious metals by request.
What makes Aeternum Jewellery different?
Aeternum creates alternative jewellery as precious metal work, not costume jewellery.
Each piece is designed around material, proportion, weight and a lifetime of wear. Our focus is sculptural form, restrained detail and jewellery made to last beyond trend.
Materials & Craft
What materials do you use?
We work primarily in sterling silver, 9ct gold and 14ct gold. Some bespoke pieces can also be made in other precious metals by request.
Our tunnels, rings and other jewellery are made as solid precious metal pieces. We do not use plated brass, gold fill, nickel or lead-based construction for our jewellery.
Are your pieces solid metal or plated?
Our precious metal pieces are solid sterling silver or solid gold, depending on the product selected. They are not plated, gold filled or made with a brass core.
If a product includes any additional material, such as enamel or gemstones, this will be stated on the product page.
Are your stones ethically sourced?
We use selected gemstones and diamonds depending on the piece. Where relevant, stone details will be listed on the product page. For bespoke work, stone options can be discussed during the design process.
Sizing & Fit
How do I choose the right ear tunnel size?
Choose your usual stretched-ear size. If you are unsure, read our Ear Tunnel Size Guide before ordering.
Different flare styles can fit differently. Double flare, Mayan flare and single flare tunnels all sit in the ear in different ways, so it is worth checking the guide before choosing.
What is the difference between Mayan flare and double flare ear tunnels?
Mayan flare and double flare tunnels have different profiles, proportions and ways of sitting in the ear.
If you are unsure which style is right for you, read our Mayan Flare vs Double Flare Ear Tunnels guide before ordering.
How do I choose the right ring size?
The most accurate option is to have your finger measured professionally. Ring fit can vary depending on band width, ring weight and finger shape.
For conversions between UK, US and EU sizes, use our Ring Size Conversion Guide.
Can you make custom sizes?
Some pieces can be adjusted or made to custom specifications. This depends on the design, material and requested change.
If you need a custom wearable length, ring size, tunnel size or other adjustment, contact us before ordering.
Made To Order & Bespoke
Are all items made to order?
All Aeternum pieces are made to order. This allows each item to be produced in the selected size, material and finish, rather than mass-produced in advance.
Processing times are shown on product pages and may vary depending on the piece.
What is the turnaround time for orders?
Most made-to-order pieces are completed within 2–3 weeks. More complex pieces and bespoke work may take longer.
If you need a piece for a specific date, contact us before ordering.
How do I request bespoke jewellery?
To request a bespoke piece, visit the Bespoke Jewellery page and complete the enquiry form with your idea, preferred material, budget and any relevant sizing or design details.
We will review the request and let you know whether the piece is suitable for bespoke work.
Can I alter an existing design?
Some designs can be altered, including changes to metal, stone choice, size, finish or proportion. This depends on the structure of the piece.
Contact us before ordering if you would like to discuss a variation.
Orders, Shipping & Customs
How do I place an order?
Choose the product, select the available size, metal or style options, then add it to your cart and complete checkout.
If you need a custom size, altered specification or bespoke piece, contact us before placing your order.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. Aeternum Jewellery ships internationally.
Delivery times vary by destination, courier and customs processing. International orders may be subject to customs duties, taxes or import fees.
Who pays customs duties and import fees?
Customs duties, taxes and import fees are not included in product or shipping prices. These charges are set by the destination country and are the responsibility of the recipient.
If you are ordering from outside the UK, check your local import rules before ordering.
How can I track my order?
Once your order has been completed and dispatched, you will receive tracking details by email where tracking is available.
Use the tracking link provided to follow the shipment. If you have not received tracking information after dispatch, contact us.
Returns, Exchanges & Lost Parcels
Can I cancel or modify my order after placing it?
If you need to cancel or change an order, contact us as soon as possible.
Because most pieces are made to order, changes may not be possible once production has begun. If the piece has already been cast, set, engraved, customised or finished to your specification, cancellation or modification options may be limited.
What is your returns policy?
Returns depend on the item ordered and whether it was made to standard options, customised, bespoke, damaged or faulty.
Made-to-order, bespoke, customised or size-specific pieces may not be eligible for return unless faulty. If there is a problem with your order, contact us within 14 days of receiving it so we can review the issue.
What happens if my parcel is lost in transit?
If a parcel is delayed or appears to be lost in transit, contact us so we can investigate with the courier or shipping provider.
If the parcel is confirmed as lost, we will work with you to resolve the issue in line with the order details, courier investigation and applicable consumer law.
Jewellery Care
How do I care for my jewellery?
Store jewellery separately when not worn and avoid harsh chemicals, chlorine, perfumes, lotions and abrasive surfaces.
Sterling silver can naturally develop a patina over time. Gold should be cleaned gently with a soft cloth. For more detailed care advice, read our Jewellery Care Guide.
Can I wear my jewellery every day?
Many Aeternum pieces are made for long-term wear, but all jewellery should be treated with care.
Remove jewellery before swimming, heavy exercise, sleeping where pressure may be applied, or work that may knock, scratch or stress the piece.
